I am confused about the diff.patch in vasp.5.4.4.pl2.
After I made the vasp using the vasp.5.4.4.pl2, I still need to patch the diff.patch using patch -p0 < diff.patch ?
or the bug has fixed and I don't need to patch the diff.patch?

When you download the vasp.5.4.4.pl2.tgz file from the vasp portal and extract it, the source already contains the changes in the diff.patch (you can verify it manually).
Indeed if you try applying the patch using "patch -p0 < diff.patch" you should get a warning message.
In short: you don't need to apply the patch.
