Dear Yong Zuo,

I think this issue is related to a hardware configuration. Am I correct in thinking that you want to use 4 NUMA domains per CPU on an EPYC platform and get an error when running the mpirun command? Note that the NUMA configuration is set in the BIOS, so you might need to contact your system administrator or HPC facility to figure out what setting is used and if it might be changed.

Which NUMA configuration would be the most efficient for your use case is a different question that would need some thorough benchmarking to figure out.

If I am mistaken in my assessment of your question, please do not hesitate to reach out again.

All the best, Michael
