Dear adminster:

I am using Ubuntu 7.10 linux system and I would like to download software to visualize CHGCAR results from vasp. which software is a good choice? Thanks a lot. I found the rasmol is not enough. I could install rasmol on ububtu from its repository but it could not work for CHGCAR file.

I usually convert the CHGCAR - file into xsf-format and then read it with XCrySDen, but there is certainly plenty more choices.

Best regards,

I usually use vmd.

Other choices I know of are vaspview and p4vasp. There are also DX net files floating around if you like to use opendx. Just google around and you'll find it.
